Summary
We only use cookies that are strictly necessary to run the site, plus one optional cookie, adp_ref, which we set only if you choose “Allow referral tracking”. We don’t use advertising cookies, and our analytics doesn’t use cookies at all.
You can change your cookie choice at any time.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in much the same way. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), a website must ask for your consent before storing or reading information on your device, unless it is strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for.
2. Cookies we use
| Cookie | What it does | Type | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
adp_session (named __Host-adp_session on our live site) | Keeps you signed in and protects your account. Set only when you sign in. | Strictly necessary | 30 days for customer accounts and 12 hours for staff accounts, or until you sign out |
adp_consent | Remembers your cookie choice, so that we don’t ask on every page. | Strictly necessary | 12 months |
adp_ref | Remembers the referral code of the customer whose link you followed, so that they can be credited if you create an account. | Optional: only with your consent | 30 days |
Cookies set by our providers
- Cloudflare, which protects our site, may set strictly necessary security cookies such as
__cf_bmto tell people apart from automated traffic. These usually last 30 minutes. See Cloudflare’s cookie information. - Stripe sets its own cookies on its checkout page, which is on Stripe’s website rather than ours, to process your payment and prevent fraud. See Stripe’s cookie policy.
We don’t use advertising, social media or cross-site tracking cookies.
3. Analytics without cookies
Our analytics doesn’t set cookies or use local storage. It uses the IP address and browser type that your browser sends with every web request, combines them with a random value that changes every day, and keeps only the resulting one-way hash. Each daily value is deleted after two days, so we can’t reverse the hash or link your visits across days. We use these records to count visits and see which pages work, under our legitimate interests. Our privacy notice has the details, including your right to object.
4. Referral tracking
- A customer’s referral link contains
?ref=followed by their referral code. - If you choose Allow referral tracking, we store that code in the
adp_refcookie for 30 days. If you create an account in that time, the referral is credited and the customer may earn a commission if you buy the info pack. It doesn’t change what you pay. - If you choose Essential only, we don’t set the cookie. A referral can still be credited if you open our sign-up page from the referral link itself, because the code is part of the link.
- If you follow a referral link before making a choice, we keep the code only in the open page’s memory and store it only if you then allow referral tracking.
- If you follow more than one referral link, the most recent one replaces the earlier one.
5. Changing your choice
Use the Cookie settings button at the end of any legal page, or change your cookie choice now. If you switch to Essential only, we delete the adp_ref cookie straight away.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, you won’t be able to sign in.
6. Changes and contact
We will update this policy if the cookies we use change; the version and effective date are shown at the top. Questions: [to be confirmed].
